Intertek CEA Continues PV Module Testing and Monitoring

Huatian Xu explains how Intertek CEA will continue testing and monitoring PV modules independently through its own R&D program following the conclusion of the pv magazine test program earlier this year.
In early 2025, the installation was moved to a test field in Yinchuan operated by the China National Center of Supervision and Inspection on Solar PV Products Quality (CPVT), where YIST has rented space to install a number of modules.
Since 2017, the pv magazine test program has provided long-term field testing and performance data across multiple generations of PV module technology, supported by Intertek CEA and its testing partners. With pv magazine concluding the program, Intertek CEA will continue the work independently, maintaining the Yinchuan test facility with YIST and expanding the initiative into a self-funded R&D program focused on ongoing module validation and field performance research.
Huatian Xu, Director of Technology and Quality at Intertek CEA, outlines plans to re-evaluate existing test samples, add newly sourced modules, and potentially expand testing to additional climates, while periodically sharing anonymized research findings and exploring new professional reporting services for the industry.
